Medical Staff Safety
Improved emergency response
In the event of an emergency or staff illness, the tracking system allows you to immediately locate staff in difficulty and send help quickly.
Location and condition monitoring
The system provides real-time data on the location of staff and any prolonged inactivity, which can indicate health problems or dangerous situations.
Optimization of resources and intervention routes
Optimization of resources and intervention routes: Knowing where operators are allows you to better plan resources and optimize intervention routes, avoiding risk areas and improving the effectiveness of responses.
Workflow analysis and optimization
The tracking system provides useful data for analyzing staff movements and optimizing operational processes.

It is essential to develop systems that increase the safety of personnel, especially in hospital environments, where episodes of violence or aggression can occur. RTLS systems allow immediate alarms to be sent in the event of danger, allowing a rapid response by internal security or law enforcement. This increases the perceived and real safety of personnel, creating a safer and more peaceful working environment.

HOW IT WORKS

Our Workforce Safety solution is based on RTLS platforms from our technology portfolio: BLE, AoA, Mesh. The choice of the best-fit technology is based on the analysis of the technical, functional, operational and environmental requirements of the project.

Energy-efficient battery-powered wearable tags are worn by staff (doctors, nurses, …). Tags include an accelerometer sensor that provides motion status of the person and, using advanced algorithms, can detect critical events like shock or man-down. Wearable tags also integrate an alarm button, which can be used to send localized alerts for assistance or critical events.

A fixed infrastructure of antennas (also called locators or anchors) allows to receive the signal from the tags. Depending on the technology and the solution adopted, antennas can be mains-powered or battery-powered, and support different data connection technologies: Ethernet, WiFi, Mesh.

Raw data coming from the antennas are processed by the localization software, which provides the position and status data of the individual tags worn by personnel, including alarm events, through APIs, for easy and seamless integration with application software or third-party systems. Location data can be also used to trigger system alarms in case of presence in unauthorized areas or reports by lone workers. The localization software also comes with an intuitive graphical UI for system management and monitoring.
