Proximity beacons
Museums and turist sites
Thanks to BLE beacon-based guides, visitors automatically receive audio and multimedia content as they approach artworks or exhibition areas. A simple and engaging way to enrich the visitor experience with contextual information and personalized itineraries.
Operator location management
BLE beacons allow to locate personnel and radio devices indoors, improving safety and coordinating operational activities. An ideal solution for monitoring attendance, managing emergencies, and optimizing workflows.
Indoor navigation and way finding
With BLE beacons, it's possible to implement indoor navigation systems that guide users step-by-step through complex buildings such as airports, hospitals, shopping centers, or events. Information is provided based on location, making it easier to navigate and access services.

Bluetooth LE beacons enable precise identification of spaces, places, and objects, enabling proximity services for both information and safety. Thanks to integration with smartphone apps, cities and buildings can offer users contextual content and information based on their location, such as cultural points of interest, nearby services, or transportation updates.

In addition to delivering contextual and informational content, BLE beacons can also support operator localization for safety purposes. When integrated with smartphone applications or dedicated radio devices, they enable real-time or zone-based positioning of personnel inside buildings or industrial environments, improving emergency response, worker protection, and overall operational safety.

Bluetooth LE beacons can be used for the unique identification of spaces, places, objects, both for information and marketing purposes. The city becomes a multidimensional environment, where the citizen interacts via smartphone app, receiving contextual information on historical and cultural points of interest in the immediate vicinity, on the timetables of the means of transport departing or arriving at nearby stations, on the promotional offers of the shops around, on scheduled events in the surrounding area.

BlueUp offers a range of BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) beacons designed to develop proximity services, such as immersive experiences, indoor navigation and proximity marketing. Each beacon is designed and produced internally, thus ensuring quality and reliability, to allow customers to fully exploit the potential of BLE technology.
It is important to clarify, however, that our focus is on the supply of devices: we do not directly deal with the development of the applications necessary to integrate and use them in various contexts.

HOW IT WORKS

Beacons, when placed at strategic points within buildings, enable advanced indoor localization and proximity communication systems. Thanks to their ability to transmit low-power radio signals (typically Bluetooth Low Energy), these devices enable the detection of nearby objects or people, enabling a wide range of applications.

One of the primary functions of beacons is indoor localization, where GPS systems are ineffective. Through a network of spatially distributed beacons, it is possible to estimate the position of compatible devices, such as smartphones, tablets, or tags associated with objects and people.

Beacons can also function as proximity beacons, automatically sending information or content to nearby devices. This allows for the creation of contextual information experiences that change based on the user’s location.

This technology is particularly useful in various application contexts.
In the museum sector, for example, beacons can guide visitors along thematic or personalized itineraries, providing multimedia content, information about the artworks, and orientation within the rooms.

Another important application is indoor navigation and wayfinding. Using beacon networks, systems can be created to guide users within complex buildings such as hospitals, airports, universities, or large industrial facilities, indicating optimal routes and points of interest.

Beacons can also play a significant role in worker safety, especially in industrial environments or complex work contexts. The ability to track staff locations or send proximity-based notifications improves emergency management, increases safety, and optimizes operations. Compatibility with radio devices and other communication systems is particularly important in this context, allowing beacons to be integrated with existing infrastructure.

The entire beacon network can be centrally configured, monitored, and managed by adopting Wirepas-based mesh beacons and MeshCube platform. This platform allows to monitor device status, update configurations, collect data, and manage the infrastructure efficiently and scalably, facilitating the implementation of beacon-based solutions even in complex or distributed environments.
